2025 British & Irish Lions at the MCG.

This 2025 British & Irish Lions tour will be the biggest event in world Rugby next year. Very few rivalries in world sport can match a British & Irish Lions tour.

The British & Irish Lions is a team comprised selected Rugby Union players whom eligible for the national teams of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. They assemble every 4 years, and rotate tours between southern hemisphere powerhouse nations Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The previous tour in Australia was held back in 2013, where the Lions won the test series 2–1. Australia won the second test at Etihad Stadium (now Marvel Stadium) in a close match, 16-15 in front of 56,771 fans.

Due to the sheer popularity and amount of interest in this tour, the second test in Melbourne will be played at the MCG, with a capacity crowd of 100,000 expected.
